Game Start: I Disguise as a Good Villager currently in play.
Hints
Always consider themselves as Disguised role.
Details
After all cards are dealt, Doppelganger will choose a Villager in play and disguise as it.
The Doppelganger will tell the truth and will have the abilities of the character they are disguising as.
Tips
Currently nothing can corrupt an Outcast meaning Doppelganger will never be corrupt.
Identifying whether or not you have a Doppelganger in play is crucial to winning a game.
A Doppelganger will always disguise as a villager in play. Therefore if you find a Doppelganger, the character they are disguising as must also be in play.
If there is exactly one other character claiming what the Doppelganger is disguised as, that character is good.
It is possible for Minions to also be disguising as the same character the Doppelganger is disguising as. Therefore a Doppelganger does not immediately confirm all the people claiming its disguise if there are two or more people claiming it.
If you know there is a Doppelganger in play and there are only two Villagers claiming the same character, then you know they are both good and one of them is the Doppelganger.
If there is a potential Doppelganger in play, check to see if there are two of the same character saying the same thing. If this happens it's likely that either the Doppelganger is in there and both characters are telling the truth or both characters are lying.
It is possible for the Doppelganger to be saying something that contradicts the real Villager they are disguising as. This can happen if the Villager the Doppelganger is disguising as gets corrupted.
Characters that are telling the truth will see the Doppelganger as a Good Outcast and as the Doppelganger.
Characters that are lying will see the Doppelganger as the character they are disguising as.
Currently, if a Doppelganger disguises as a character with the “Game Start” ability the Doppelganger’s “Game Start” ability will trigger after the other character’s ability.
Interactions
If a Doppelganger is in the Bishop's info, the Doppelganger is the outcast and the Bishop is telling the truth since when the Bishop lies all the people in her info are good villagers.
A truthful Druid will be able to see a Doppelganger in their info.
A Medium that is telling the truth will see the Doppelganger as the Doppelganger and a lying Medium will see the Doppelganger as the character they are disguising as.
It is possible for a Counsellor to be seated next to a Doppelganger, which makes it harder to identify possible positions for where the Counsellor is seated.
A Plague Doctor will never attempt to corrupt a Doppelganger since Plague Doctor targets Villagers and Doppelganger is an Outcast.
A Poisoner will never attempt to corrupt a Doppelganger. If a Doppelganger is seated next to a Poisoner, the Poisoner will attempt to corrupt the other character next to them if able.
A Puppeteer will never attempt to turn a Doppelganger into a Puppet. If a Doppelganger is seated next to a Puppeteer, the Puppeteer will attempt to turn the other character next to them into a Puppet if able.
A Doppelganger will never have the same disguise as the Puppet.
A Doppelganger can have the same disguise as a villager copied by the Shaman.
A Pooka cannot corrupt a Doppelganger that is next to them.
Trivia
