Game Start: One Adjacent Villager is Corrupted (if possible). I Lie and Disguise.
Ability
- A corrupted character will lie and their ability will not work.
- If an Outcast or Evil is next to the Poisoner, the Poisoner will not attempt to corrupt and try to corrupt the other character next to them if possible.
- The Poisoner corruption stops at adjacent characters, meaning that if the characters next to the Poisoner are not able to be corrupted the Poisoner will not try and corrupt the next closest villager.
- It is possible for the Poisoner to not corrupt anyone if both adjacent characters are Outcasts or evil.
Tips
- Identifying potential seats where the Poisoner is is important whenever he is in the game. Look for areas where there are at least two people next to each other that are lying as the Poisoner is likely someone there.
- If there are no other sources of corruption in the game, if you find a corrupted character who is not the Drunk then you know the Poisoner has to be next to that character.
Interactions
- Truthful characters will see the Poisoner as evil and through their disguise.
- Lying characters will see the Poisoner as good and as the character they are disguising as.
- The Poisoner acts after Pooka. If the Poisoner is two spaces from the Pooka, the Poisoner will not attempt to corrupt some that was corrupted by the Pooka.
- If the Poisoner corrupts an Alchemist, that Alchemist will not be able to use their ability and will not cure anyone.
- A Bard that is corrupted by the Poisoner will lie about the distance they are from a corrupted character. Note a truthful Bard will never consider themselves when talking about the closest corrupted character to them.
- The Witness will see characters corrupted by the Poisoner as being affected by an evil.
- If a Puppeteer turns a Villager that the Poisoner corrupted into a Puppet, the Puppet will no longer be corrupted. The Puppet will still tell the truth and be able to use their ability normally.
