Marbles provide mastery levels for skills or give special buffs by equipping them into items with a Marble socket.
Only Unique (orange) items do have Marble sockets.
An exception is a Rare (Yellow) item with the Add spiritual stone socket property. If you refine this property to some other property, the Marble contained in the socket will be lost in the process.
