The card targeted by Trump Card loses Retain when played.

Discarding the card with effects like Refocus does not cause the card to lose Retain.

Very useful for Full-On Attack, as Self Exhaust will not trigger while Full-On Attack has Retain.

Useful for Double Take, Unlocked Mind, and Powers in decks that use the aforementioned cards. This makes it much easier to draw the other card needed to double a Power.

Can be used in larger decks to ensure defensive cards like Fortify, Slam, and Rope Hook are available when you need them.

Fear, Distracted, and Stomach Ache's effects can be mitigated by Trump Card. Keeping them in your hand and preventing you from drawing them.
