One More Trick and One More Trick+ serve different purposes.

One More Trick is very useful as a way to ensure you have combo pieces like Muscle Memory or Unlocked Mind in your hand when you need them, and this works for any deck size.

One More Trick+ is better for larger decks, where you may need to be able to access important cards more easily.

If you have One More Trick in hand while your deck is empty the card is useless. This is more likely with smaller decks so you may not want to upgrade One More Trick while using a small deck.
