You cannot place traps on tiles occupied by enemies.
You can place traps on tiles occupied by other items. This will destroy the other item.
Traps are very useful for two things, stopping charging enemies and stopping enemies that run away.
Compared to other traps, Bloody Trap is one of 2 damage-increasing traps. Bloody Trap becomes better than Crippling Trap in decks that already have a source of Vulnerable, and in the early game where you will likely be dealing less damage with each attack. Bloody Trap adds more damage than Crippling Trap for any instance of damage that deals less than 6 damage, after accounting for flat increases such as your weapon.
Enemies do not consider traps placed by the player when pathfinding. They do, however, try to avoid a trap placed by an enemy the turn it is placed.
